Start with our central location that puts companies within a day’s drive of most of the eastern two-thirds of the nation, including fast, affordable access to automakers in Midwestern and southeastern United States. In addition to highway transportation, we have Class 1 rail from Canadian National, CSX, and Union Pacific, with responsive local service from short line Effingham Railroad.

Manufacturers that need extensive utility resources will discover that Effingham County is up to the challenge, with plenty of water and sewer, redundant electric power sources, and a high-speed fiber backbone.

Local schools have worked with the business community to develop workforce preparation programs in areas such as welding, CNC programming and operation, robotics, OSHA requirements, leadership, 3D printing, and other high-demand skills. Plus, the area’s longstanding tradition of hard work, problem-solving, independence, and personal responsibility means we have low union activity.
